A LANDSCAPE OF LONGING

To travel by train is both the journey itself and the specific landscape through which the train passes. Enclosed within the carriage, all of the elements of the journey-its purpose, its destination, the scenery, the mood of the traveler-compose themselves and are perceived as a unity, a melody of experience, imagination, memory and longing.

URBAN LANDSCAPES

The absence of specificity in these works allows the landscape to transcend its time and place and seem familiar, as if existing in our thoughts, dreams or memories.
